KindiLink
KindiLink is a play-and-learn initiative for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who are not old enough to enrol in school.
Children attend with a parent/carer for six hours a week. KindiLink offers high quality play-and-learn sessions for children and their parent/carer at the participating schools, at no cost to families. Families are supported by a teacher and Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer to be actively involved in the activities with their children based on the abecedarian approach.
Children and families from outside a KindiLink school’s catchment area are welcome to participate in KindiLink. Where room also exists, and with support from attending families and the local community, non-Aboriginal children and parent/carers may be invited to participate.
At Derby District High School, we operate our KindiLink across two sites:
Mowanjum
Monday & Tuesday 9:00am - 11:30am
Mowanjum Kindy Building
Derby
Wednesday & Thursday 9:00am - 11:30am
2 Ashley St, Derby WA 6728
Families can sign up for KindiLink at their local KindiLink school anytime in the year.

Your child must be 4 years old by 30 June the year they start kindergarten – this means some children will start kindergarten aged 3 years old and turn 4 while they’re at kindergarten. You child will also need to show record of immunisations.
Our Kindergarten:

We also have a Kindergarten bus for pick ups and drop off to support your child getting to school.
