The early years, and Kindergarten at Derby DHS is a place where every child feels safe, valued and empowered to thrive. Through a high-quality play-based approach, students develop curiosity, creativity, confidence and problem-solving skills while building strong foundations in oral language, literacy and numeracy through evidence-based teaching practices.

Wellbeing is central to everything we do, with trauma-informed approaches and positive behaviour support fostering resilience, positive relationships and a genuine love of learning.
